Why SECON 2018
SECON 2018 was a widely-acclaimed exhibition that received exciting feedback from all participating companies and visitors befitting its status as the leading security exhibition in Asia. Various events and programs were held on the sidelines with related agencies and organizations throughout the exhibition period, which enabled all parties involved to keep pace with the latest trends in security market at home and abroad.

Analysis of Visitors
45,101 visitors to SECON 2017 were categorized by industry and occupation, and the purpose of their visit and their product interests were examined.

Classification of Visitors by Industry
Out of the total 45,101 visitors, 11,027 were from central government agencies and local governments, as well as government affiliated organizations/public institutions.

Classification of Visitors by Occupation
There were 16,029 CISO/CIO/CPO’s and persons in charge of security, and 7,893 persons in charge of IT teams, computing and networks. Considering that in companies without dedicated security personnel, IT personnel also serve as security managers, more than 20,000 security professionals visited the exhibition. 9,178 procurement managers responsible for purchasing security equipment and solutions, and top decision makers such as CEO/CTO (3,653) and CISO/CPO/CIO/CTO (5,110) also attended the exhibition.

Purpose of Visit
Analysis of visitors’ stated purpose for visiting SECON indicated that suppliers had the chance to identify the needs of customers while users were able to check out a wide variety of products and technologies.

Main Interests of Visitors (Multiple Responses Allowed)
Classifying the purposes of visit, 29.53% of all visitors, i.e. 19,225 visitors, said they attended the exhibition to ‘collect information on new products,’ and 18,994 people (29.18%) visited to ‘grasp security trends and issues.’ A whopping 58.71% of people, i.e. 38,219 visitors, said they visited to see new products and grasp new trends at this exhibition.

Among the items on exhibition at SECON 2017, the following attracted the most attention of visitors. 16,874 visitors (29.13%) said they were most interested in ‘information security solutions,’ followed by 15,115 persons (26.09%) interested in video security solutions.
